The rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” Prof. DSc. Anastas Gerdzhikov, and Fikri Kiper, Director of Human Resources of Acibadem City Clinic, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions. The event was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boryana Bogdanova, Vice-Dean “Partnerships with Business and Alumni Community” of FEBA and Head of the Career Center, Stanislava Pavlova, Recruitment Manager, Acibadem City Clinic and Rosena Ivanova-Gyavurova, manager “Organizational Development” at Acibadem City Clinic.

During the conversation, the importance and benefits for both sides of cooperation were discussed, and Fikri Kiper pointed out that internships are useful for students and employers because they get to know each other, see each other's strengths and have enough time to evaluate whether they would like to work together in the future. He highlighted his positive impressions of the activity of the Career Center of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the great support it provides to students. Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov emphasized that he is happy with the various opportunities provided by the agreement and pointed out that the cooperation should develop.

The purpose of the agreement is for the two institutions to assist in the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of economics, management and big data modeling in business and finance by increasing their theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills. It is planned to update the curricula of the disciplines taught in the bachelor's and master's programs of FEBA, according to the current needs of business, including the introduction of new courses and specialties. Real case studies from practice will be presented and incorporated into the learning process, practical-oriented presentations in the field of economics, management and big data modeling in business and finance will be shown.

The agreement also provides for conducting student internships and visits, supporting career guidance and motivating students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, conducting joint specialized trainings, round tables, conferences and other events according to the needs of the practice, including in line with the postgraduate qualification of the University. The agreement also provides for assistance in improving the material environment of the educational process in accordance with the needs of teaching in the field of finance, economics and management, as well as assistance in establishing scholarships for students of FEBA.
