On May 11, 2025, within the framework of the "Practicum in Customs and Tax Control" course led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Madanski, students from the Master's Program "Customs and Tax Control" had the opportunity to attend a guest lecture delivered by Mr. Vladimir Georgiev – Chief Expert in the Control Directorate of the National Revenue Agency (NRA).

During the lecture, Mr. Georgiev introduced the students to the control activities of the NRA, which include:

  • Identifying fuels as high fiscal risk goods and implementing the corresponding control measures;
  • Monitoring the movement of fuels from excise tax warehouses to gas stations;
  • Controlling the operations of gas stations through gauge systems and electronic systems with fiscal memory (ESFM);
  • Conducting inspections and audits of entities operating in this sector.

After the theoretical part, the students visited a tax warehouse (gas station), where they had the opportunity to observe a practical session related to the NRA’s control activities.
The lecture concluded with a lively discussion between the students and the lecturer. The students expressed their gratitude to Mr. Georgiev for the exceptionally interesting and useful presentation, which enriched their knowledge and practical skills.
