The Twin2Green project of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration has received a 2.9 million BGN funding from PRIDST
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" received funding for the Twin2Green project under the "Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation" 2021-2027 Programme (PRIDST).
The Twinning2Green Transition Leadership (Twin2Green) project has been approved for funding under the direct grant measure BG16RFPR002-1.009 "Support for Bulgarian scientific organisations with projects passing the evaluation thresholds under Horizon Europe – HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-02 (Twinning)". The duration of the project is 36 months, starting from 25 April 2025, and the grant awarded has a maximum amount of BGN 2,933,119.13. This is the project with the largest single grant funding in the history of FEBA and it will start in the 35th anniversary year of the reestablishment of FEBA within the University.
The Twin2Green project is designed to promote research excellence and increase the visibility of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University in the field of sustainable green energy economy, innovation management in response to current national and regional realities and EU green energy, sustainability and innovation management skills objectives. Based on a transdisciplinary holistic approach to research and management capacity building, the project will develop and implement a comprehensive set of measures, including the development of a common scientific strategy, networking activities, knowledge transfer and/or dissemination, exchange of best practices, collaborative research activities and the establishment of long-term cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and four leading international research institutions from EU countries
The expertise and skills of the partners will contribute to strengthening the science-based learning process and the planned large-scale communication activities will raise awareness on the benefits of new green technologies. The project will create conditions for attracting young scientists from the region and will actively support the scientific development of young researchers in the faculty. The Twin2Green project will thus contribute to making the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration a regional centre of scientific excellence and an institution of significant regional and international importance in the field of green economy and innovation management.
The leader of the Twin2Green project team is the Dean of FEBA Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, and the leading researcher (R4) in the project is Prof. Dr. Albena Vutsova.
