On May 29, 2025 (Thursday), at 4:00 PM, a public lecture titled "From Idea to Success: How Three Women Transform the Energy Sector" will take place in Room 315 at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The event is part of the Female Entrepreneurship Lab initiative and is suitable for current and former students in economics, business, energy, and entrepreneurship, as well as anyone interested in how innovations are changing the way we choose electricity suppliers.

The lecture will be led by three prominent women professionals with extensive experience in the energy sector – Kremena Stoyanova, Maria Yovcheva, and Tsvetanka Georgieva. During the event, they will share their inspiring story of how united by the idea of change they launched the innovative company elca.bg, which carries the mission to accelerate the energy transition by making the electricity market for small consumers understandable, fair, and even interesting.

Key topics of the lecture will include:

  • How the idea for the company was born and the initial challenges faced
  • How expertise in a conservative and regulated sector can be successfully combined with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • How female leadership contributes to building trust and achieving sustainable growth
  • Why liberalization, and with it digitalization, are opportunities for enhancing competition and achieving better prices
  • How the energy sector will develop in the future and what role the new generation will play in this transformation

Kremena Stoyanova is a financial expert with over 20 years of experience in the energy and consulting sectors. She holds a Master's degree in Finance and Banking from Sofia University "St. Kl. Ohridski" and is a Certified Accountant with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in the United Kingdom. She has worked as the Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of CEZ Electro Bulgaria AD and has made a significant contribution to the development of the energy sector in Bulgaria.

Maria Yovcheva is a legal expert with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector. She graduated in Law from Sofia University "St. Kl. Ohridski" and has long-standing experience in the strategic management of energy companies, as well as in the development of the regulatory framework in the energy field. She was part of the management team of CEZ Group Bulgaria and co-authored the Energy Act, the Energy Efficiency Act, and the Renewable Energy Act, along with their respective regulations.

Tsvetanka Georgieva is an engineer with significant experience in information and communication technologies in the utility sector. She graduated from the Technical University in Prague and earned an EMBA from the University of Nottingham at the Faculty of Business Administration, Technical University in Brno. She has held managerial positions at CEZ Group Bulgaria, where her work has contributed to the integration of modern ICT solutions.
