The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” provides three scholarships for the CFA Level I certificate exam. The "Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications" program, taught in English, is part of the University Affiliation Program with the CFA Institute. From the academic year 2024-25, students enrolled in the B.Sc. “Business Administration” and “Economics and Finance” are also eligible to apply for a scholarship.
The award entitles the recipient to free enrollment in the program and a reduced exam registration fee of USD 600 plus 20% VAT above that amount, which includes access to the curriculum and all available study tools. The reduced fee (USD 600 + 20% VAT) will only be reflected on the last page of the exam registration process.
The application deadline is Monday, July 4, 2025.
Ranking will be done based on the average of the first 5 semesters of study and a motivation letter, which students should upload to the CFA platform when applying here.
Please upload the letter of assurance provided by the Bachelors Department and the motivation letter on the CFA platform. The motivation letter should describe why you believe you are a suitable candidate for the scholarship. Ranking will be based on the average grade in the studies and the motivation of the applicants.
Application requirements:
The scholarship program is valid for students in their 3rd and 4th year of study in the Bachelor's degree programme “Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications”, “Business Administration” and “Economics and Finance”.
Candidates who are already registered for the CFA program examination at the time of application are NOT eligible to apply.

Scholarship Award
Registration and selection of a date to sit for the CFA Level 1 Certificate Examination upon successful qualification and receipt of a scholarship must be no later than 6 months from the date of award. It will be active after 7 to 10 days of its award. The scholarship recipient does not have to select an exam date within the six months of activating the scholarship.
Winners will be selected by July 8, 2025 by the Department of Finance and Accounting.
