On May 15, 2024, a guest lecture by Ing. Julie Gorgemans from "Westinghouse Electric" will be held online, organized by the Faculty of Physics of SU "St. Kliment Ohridski".
The topic of the lecture is "Evolution of US Civil Light Water Nuclear Technology: The Development of Passive Plants".
Please, plan to join us for an engaging lecture on the evolution of US civil light water nuclear technology and the development of passive plants. During this lecture, the history of light water reactor development in the US will be reviewed from the first commercial pressurized water reactor, the Shippingport, commissioned in 1957, to the latest generation III+ designs.
Speaker: Ing. Julie Gorgemans, Engineering Director, AP Technology Development at Westinghouse Electric Company. She is responsible for the technical coordination of engineering support to the development of new build projects based on AP1000 and AP300 technology.
