On February 26, Svetla Genova, Director of the Directorate “Excise Activity and Methodology” at the Central Customs Administration – Customs Agency, gave a guest lecture to the students of the master's program “Customs and Tax Control” with director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Madanski.
The lecture on “Excise Policy” was held as part of the “Tax and Customs Policy of the EU” course. The interesting and useful presentation of Mrs. Genova also focused on the harmonization in the field of excise duties, and the types of excise goods and the moments of their taxation were discussed in detail.
There was a fruitful discussion between the guest lecturer and the students, in which the emphasis was on the taxation of tobacco and tobacco products, alcohol and alcoholic beverages, as well as energy products and electricity.
