On March 18, guest lecturer in the Мaster's program "Energy Markets and Services" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teodora Peneva, a researcher from the Economic Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Assoc. Prof. Peneva visited the lectures of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev and presented the topic "Energy Poverty in Bulgaria - Situation and Policies for its Reduction".

In the guest lecture, Assoc. Prof. Peneva presented her own and foreign research and analyses on the topic, addressing the official definition of the concept of "Energy Poverty" - including in Bulgarian legislation, discussing related policies, and providing several examples from other countries.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teodora Peneva is the most established Bulgarian researcher on the topic of "Energy Poverty". She defended her dissertation on the topic "Analysis of Methods for Studying Energy Poverty in Bulgaria" in 2017 at the Department of Industry Economics and Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", and subsequently became a researcher at the Economic Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Since November 2023, she has been appointed to the academic position of Associate Professor.
