In June 2023, the Public Financial Inspection Agency (PFIA) signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA).
Among the objectives of the agreement are:
- Creation of training programs for PFIA employees in the Center for Educational Services for postgraduate qualifications with teachers from FEBA and the Faculty of Law of Sofia University;
- Conducting joint trainings, courses, competitions and other initiatives of common interest;
- Joint application for projects/programs in the areas of interest of both parties;
- Organizing public events to present good practices and raise awareness in areas of mutual interest;
- Creating platforms for cooperation with other universities and third countries in areas of mutual interest;
- Integrating efforts to strengthen international cooperation with neighboring countries.
As a result of the agreement, within the master’s program of Economics and Management of Public Resources, a mandatory discipline, Financial Control and Audit in the Public Sector Practicum, was created and launched.
The team of lecturers of the discipline:
- Dr. Stefan Belchev (Director of PFIA);
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuriy Kuchev (professor of financial and tax law at the Faculty of Law);
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savina Mihailova-Goleminova (professor of financial and tax law at FEBA);
- Todor Yankulov (Certified internal auditor - CIA; certified auditor in the public sector - CGAP - Certified Government Auditing Professional);
- Dimitar Elkov (Certified internal auditor - CIA, The Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc.; certified in the risk and control of information systems - CRISC, ISACA; certified external evaluator of the quality of the internal audit, certified internal auditor in the public sector).
