The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" is the coordinating partner for the CoDE research project, aimed at analyzing the information environment in Bulgaria. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Faculty of Philosophy and the Institute "Big Data for Smart Society" (GATE) at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski," the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the "European Software Institute - Center for Eastern Europe" the companies Webcentric, Contipso, Identrix, and representatives of the public. Its goal is to explore and analyze the information space in the country.

The project is funded by the America for Bulgaria Foundation* and will be executed over three years, from 2023 to 2026. Its objective is to consolidate best practices in the analysis of the information environment and information society, with a focus on tools, training, and an environment for collaboration aimed at developing an effective and efficient ecosystem.

The project will bring together teams from the university and partners to create a network for collaboration and innovation in the field of information. The implementation of the project will pass through three stages, including analysis, conceptualization, rationalization, and demonstration of results.

Direct stakeholders in the project include media organizations, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, representatives of the business sector, government institutions, and the entire society. The team at the FEBA, actively engaged in the project, consists of Prof. Anton Gerunov, D.Sc., Ch. Ass. Aleksey Potebnya, Ph.D., and Ch. Ass. The CoDE team believes that the implementation of the project will contribute to strengthening society against harmful phenomena in the information environment, creating a safer and informed community. The activities within the project in Bulgaria are of crucial importance for protecting public opinion.
