The Kinesiotherapy Centre offers preventive and therapeutic procedures using kinesiotherapy and physical therapy methods, with lecturers, staff and students of the University, as well as with external visitors.

KINESITHERAPY – individual and group sessions

- kinesitherapy for traumatic, degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system – post-fracture conditions, sprains, dislocations, ruptures, gonarthrosis, coxarthrosis, spondyloarthrosis, frozen shoulder, tenosynovitis, arthritis, postoperative interventions of the musculoskeletal system;

- kinesitherapy for prevention and treatment of spinal deformities; neck, back and lower back pain;

- kinesitherapy for diseases and injuries of the nervous system – after stroke, herniated discs, radiculitis, plexitis, paresis, paralysis and others;

- kinesitherapy for cardiovascular diseases – arterial hypertension, myocardial infarction;

- kinesitherapy for respiratory system diseases – chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma;

- kinesitherapy for digestive and excretory system diseases;kinesitherapy for metabolic diseases – obesity, diabetes;kinesitherapy in obstetrics and gynaecology;

- kinesiotherapy for sports injuries.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Laser therapy – suitable for:

- traumatic, degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system – arthritis, arthrosis, tendovaginitis, epicondylitis, distortions, contusions, post-fracture conditions and others;

- nervous system disorders: plexitis, radiculitis, disc herniations, neuritis, traumatic injuries of peripheral nerves and others;

- skin diseases – dermatoses, postoperative wounds, bedsores and others.

- Ultrasound therapy – in this type of therapy, cellular transport is activated and the condition of the tissues is improved. Ultrasound therapy has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. Through this method, medicinal products – Voltaren, Reparil and others – can penetrate deeply.

- Electrotherapy – this type of therapy has anti-edema, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, trophic and stimulating effects on the affected structures.

- Vacuum therapy – affects tissues at depth that are not accessible with other types of massage, significantly enhancing microcirculation of fluids – blood, lymph. Light therapy – infrared lamp and quartz lamp.

- infrared lamp - infrared rays penetrate deep into the tissue, warming it from within, expanding the vessels, which increases blood circulation. Infrared rays are used for:
1. inflammation and pain
2. arthroses, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis
3. sciatica, neuralgia
4. muscle spasms, ruptures, sprains
5. dermatological problems
6. upper respiratory tract infections – colds, sinusitis, rhinitis and bronchitis
7. burns, pressure sores, ulcers, postoperative wounds

- Quartz lamp
The use of a quartz lamp helps to enhance the body's immune system and its resistance to infectious, cold-related, musculoskeletal diseases and others. Ultraviolet rays are an important factor in the formation of vitamin D in the skin. UV rays (ultraviolet) act as pain relief for neuralgia and sciatica.
They quickly kill microbes and other microorganisms found in the air and on the skin surface. This radiation has strong biological and chemical properties (treatment of joint pain and muscular dystrophies). The range from 315 to 400 nm has a pronounced pigmentation effect (treatment of vitiligo). The range from 180 to 280 nm has a strong ozonating effect (for the treatment of sinusitis, rhinitis and flu). At a wavelength of 265 nm, a strong bactericidal effect is observed (for the treatment of psoriasis, herpes, dermatitis, vitiligo, eczema).

Thermal therapy– sauna and infrared sauna for health and beauty

- strengthens the immune system;

- removes toxins from the body;

- aids metabolism;

- helps relax muscles

- improves blood circulation;

- enhances skin elasticity, giving the skin a fresh and healthy appearance;

- relieves stress.

Massage – machine and manual (preventive, therapeutic and sports)

The centre has:

- A physiotherapy gym where both therapeutic procedures and fitness exercises are carried out under the supervision of qualified specialists.

- Physical therapy equipment for the treatment of various diseases – ultrasound, vacuum, interferential current, laser, infrared lamp, quartz lamp, sauna, infrared sauna.

- A room for machine and manual massage.

- Patients for physical therapy are accepted with medical certificates from healthcare facilities, with clinical diagnoses made by a specialist doctor. The doctor specifies the prescribed treatment, dosage, duration of the procedure, length of the treatment course, and exact application site. After thorough functional diagnostics, a rehabilitation programme is prepared.

CORRRECTIVE GYMNASTICS

At the Centre for Kinesiotherapy – Rectorate, postural gymnastics sessions are organised and conducted. Through corrective gymnastics, we aim to prevent and correct poor posture, alleviate pain in the shoulder girdle, back and neck, which are a serious problem for people with low physical activity and for professions involving prolonged desk work.
