INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS FOR WHOM THE SUBJECT SPORT IS ELECTIVE ACCORDING TO THE CURRICULUM!
1. The chosen elective subject - sport, must be registered in the department's online system.
2. Students attending Sport but who have not submitted an application to the inspectors will not be included in the exam record and therefore cannot be assessed.
3. Students who have registered with the inspectors in their faculty for Sport but do not attend it will be recorded as having not taken the exam at the end of the semester.
4. Sport is registered once at the beginning of the academic year and changing it is not allowed until the end of the second semester.
5. For students for whom sport is mandatory but who have health problems, they must submit a request (in writing or online) to transfer to distance learning or contact the Kinesitherapy Centre. Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. G. Despotova.
6. For some faculties, sport is enrolled once a year, while for others it can be enrolled in both the winter semester or separately in the summer.
7. For the second semester, it is important to follow the new sports schedules and attend the day and time that suits you, even if in the first semester in the online system you are enrolled on a different day and time.
8. For questions to the lecturers, please follow their office hours indicated in each sports schedule.
9. Students with greater abilities in a particular sport can enrol in the representative teams under the respective lecturer.
The educational activity in sports for students is conducted according to their sporting interests and the available material resources. The study groups include activities in the following sports disciplines: aerobics, basketball, volleyball, judo, yoga, calisthenics, karate, kinesiotherapy, athletics and conditioning, the majorette team, folk dances, pilates, swimming, self-defence, alpine skiing disciplines, dance sports, sport climbing, tennis, table tennis, hiking, fencing, fitness, football for men and women, and chess. The beginning of sports activities is published on the Department of Sports website at the start of the academic year, while the hours and facilities are published in the Department of Sports schedule at the beginning of each semester.
Sport as an academic discipline is:
- Compulsory
- Elective
- Optional
This depends on the status of the sport in each faculty and each programme at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". Therefore, at the beginning of each academic year, students need to follow their curriculum. At the end of the winter semester, the team of the Sports Department organises a Winter academic-sport practice for all students of SU, and after the summer examination session, as a well-deserved holiday - a Summer academic-sport practice.
