The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy (FCP) of SU, with 26 full professors, 35 associate professors and 56 assistant professors, hosts over 700 students and 40 PhD students. Among the academic staff, 109 members have PhD degree and 11 members – the higher doctor of science (DSc) degree. Most of the academic staff members have spent research periods in leading research centers in Western Europe, North America and Japan. Their research papers are published in peer reviewed international journals (about 100 papers per year) and are widely cited in the scientific literature (more than 4000 citations per year). In the Sofia University, FCP is the leader in the number of (and incomes from) research projects, their number being about 85 per year, including ca. 30 industrial projects per year.

On 22nd and 23rd of November, 2021, the 2nd school organized within the project EXTREME with topic “Modelling, Simulation and Artificial Intelligence in Colloid and Interface Science takes place as an online event.

The school is organized for young scientists, PhD students and post docs from the three participating organizations, namely University of Barcelona, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich and University of Sofia and aims to widen their knowledge in the field of modelling and simulations in the field of Colloid and Interface Science. All interested young scientists and researchers are welcome to attend the meeting.
