Over 120 year-long history of the Faculty of Slavic Studies generations of students and scholars have kept, handed down and created the knowledge about Bulgarian people, language, literature and culture.

Faculty of Slavic Studies offers Bachelor’s Degree programmes and Master’s Degree programmes and trains PhD Students in the field of Bulgarian language and literature, Slavic and Balkan studies.

Since the very beginning the teaching at the Faculty has been connected with Bulgarian school and is responsible for the preparation of Bulgarian teachers.

Acknowledging that better education is a logical result of high quality scientific research in the faculty is of great importance for scholars, working on a wide range of problems in contemporary humanitarian studies.

Faculty of Slavic Studies, in cooperation with other faculties at Sofia University, works for the development of Bulgarian science and education, and for widening their international prestige.
