The education is by taking regular courses and by correspondence according to the state order

Admission conditions (application and enrolment)

The admission of Bulgarian students is through a competitive written examination in Journalism and an oral examination in Journalism. The classification of the candidate students is done on the ground of the marks from the entrance examinations and the marks from the school-leaving certificate.

Aims

Educational

The programme gives to the students in Journalism a combination of basic training with a wide profile in mass communication, media and journalism, specialized professional training in media (print and agencies, radio, television) and professional training at student’s choice.

Professional

Bachelors of Arts in Journalism find professional realization in the field of public communication, first of all in the media. Their training gives them the chance for a successful professional incorporation also in other spheres of public communication, to continue their education and to acquire a narrower specialization in perspective.

Possibilities for realization and further development

Students graduated from the degree of education-qualification „Bachelor of Arts” in Journalism can continue their education in Master’s degree in the subjects at the Faculty.

Curriculum

The division of the courses by years and credit load that leads to the allocation of 60 credits by year, at the respective credit load of each course (compulsory, elective, optional and practice) from the year (term).

Technical equipment of the Programme

The specific character of the training in “Journalism” requires a non-standard equipment and building of a diverse lab base for modern training of the students (a studio in informatics and new media; a computer room with connection to the AFP; a video show room with a digital audio video player and a video wall; a conference hall; a press and book publishing studio; a radio studio complex; a TV studio complex; a photo lab).
