EURAXESS Bulgaria is part of the Pan European mobility network EURAXESS, established by the European Commission to support career development of researchers, to assist the mobility of the incoming and outgoing researchers as well as highly qualified specialists in the industry. EURAXESS develops its activities under four key initiatives:
Helps the researchers and highly qualified specialists to find jobs and appropriate for their projects funding opportunities and grant schemes, | |
Provides integrated services to support career development of researchers as well as detailed information about working and living conditions, visa formalities, Intellectual Property Rights and recognition of diplomas in the respective country of their interest and assist their mobility in a way that will make the moving to another country a smooth process, | |
Looks after researchers’ and highly qualified specialists’ rights and supports research organizations and universities in improving conditions for career development of researchers, | |
Connects European Researchers worldwide. |
The main tool for providing updated and structured information is the Internet portal of EURAXESS and the sub page of EURAXESS Bulgaria. The pages in LinkedIn, Facebook and VKontakte promote EURAXESS services and support the dissemination of news and information about events of interest to the scientific and research community.
Research job offers and funding opportunities are published daily from the registered organizations coming from all 43 EURAXESS countries on the EURAXESS portal.
In addition to the portal, there are three coordinating centers of EURAXESS Bulgaria– at Sofia University, Institute for Technology and Development and the New Bulgarian University. There are as well Local Contact Points for serving researchers at the TU Sofia , TU Varna, UR Ruse , Tr.U Stara Zagora , PU Plovdiv, BFU Bourgas, VFU Varna, UE Varna, UNIBIT Sofia, MU Sofia, AMDFA Plovdiv, Bulgarian Academy of Science , IF”St.St. Cyril and Methodius”, and ICT Cluster where mobile researchers and highly qualified specialists can receive information and personalized services.
The Local Contact Point at UNWE provides information and support related to intellectual property rights.
Career Development Center for Researchers at EUDAIMONIA SOLUTIONS provides consultations and career advice in cooperation with the EURAXESS Center at Sofia University.
EURAXESS Centre at Sofia University provides personalized assistance to PhD students and academic staff at SU related to their mobility and supports their career development. The EURAXESS center team organizes and disseminates information about seminars and training events, mentoring programs, etc.
The team coordinates the activities of the network in Bulgaria. Specific tasks include:
- Рroviding career advice together with EUDAIMONIA SOLUTIONS;
- Рroviding updated information on issues of interest to mobile researchers associated with legal and administrative provisions in Bulgaria concerning residence and their employment, health and social insurance, etc .;
- Maintaining and periodically update of national EURAXESS webpage and databases;
- Developing opinions and suggestions related to overcoming the problems of career development and mobility of researchers;
- Disseminating information and providing training to members of EURAXESS Bulgaria;
- Coordinating creation and distribution of information packages, products and services to researchers;
- Supporting research organizations and universities in the process of accepting the principles of the Charter of European Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter & Code)*;
- Assisting the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) in the area of EURAXESS activities;
- Representing Bulgaria at meetings of national coordinators organized by the European Commission;
- Providing information to the European Commission in connection with the activities of EURAXESS Bulgaria.
