Prof. Panayot Karagyozov opened the Readings and stated that the papers had to compete among 119 presenters of different generations. Prof. Ilchev, the Rector, added that it was the Slavi Studies scientists who were responsible from historical point of view for the opening of Bulgaria for Europe.

Offical guest of the opening was Assoc. Prof. Vladislav Lesnevski, Russian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia.
