We've got hot news!

Yesterday, 4th November, 2010, a magreto-optical trap was realized.

This trap, which is a system of 6 lasers and magnetic fields, atoms are cooled as low as 100 microkelvins. This temperature is several thouands times lower that this in the open space.
The project is funded by the National Science Fund, contract number ВУ - И - 301/2007, managed by Prof. Nikolay Vitanov and realized by scientists of the Faculty of Physics, Sofia University and the Institute of Solid State Physics, Bulgarian Academidy of Sciences.
