"There are no children, only people".

An international conference, dedicated to the children's rights, started in the Conference Hall: "Ensuring the rights of vulnerable children: problems and challenges".

The conference is dedicated to the Year of Janusz Korczak. Republic of Poland declares 2012 as the Year of Janusz Korczak: 70 years since the tragic death of Janusz Korczak in the Nazi camp at Treblinka, and the hundredth anniversary of establishment of Krochmalna street orphanage in Warsaw, a unique educational institution for Jewish children, where Dr. Korczak formulated and developed teaching ideas in eugenics and education.

On Dec. 5 during a ceremony celebration of the Year of Janusz Korczak, which took place as part of the International Congress on the Rights of the Child in Warsaw, organized by the Ombudsman, the "Warsaw Declaration" was adopted . This document, based on the ideas of the great teacher reminds of the dignity of the child and of the worth of every human being. Warsaw declaration is supported by many scientists around the world, people working in non-governmental organizations, cultural activists, representatives of the Government and Parliament of the Republic of Poland. In 2012, @ lma @ lter, together with the Polish Institute in Sofia, Science Research Fund and Foundation "Etude", introduced the play "When I am young again", which you can see as part of the regular programme of the University Theatre.
