An international conference "Bulgarian cultural opening to the world" dedicated to th 70th anniversry of Lyudmila Zhivkova's birth started in the Conference hall.
The conference was organized by the Faculty of History, Sofia University, however, it was inevitably supplied with a political flavour. In this context, Assoc. Prof. Plamen Mitev, Dean of the Faculty, opened the conference. He noted with great regret that 23 years of transition were not enough for us to be tolerant to different oponions. He also announced that in the Faculty of History there are no taboos as the road towards the temple of knowledge does not pass over prohibitions and oblivion, and he distinguished history as a sience where there is no place for political prejudice.
