The Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics hosted a coompetition in programming

The winners of the secound round of the private national competition of PC Magazine Bulgaria and Musala Soft, in cooperation with the American Foundation for Bulgaria, were awarded on 11th January.

Patron of the second round and host of the event was the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University.

Martin Marinov, third-year students at University of Aberdeen (Scotland, the UK) came first with score of 99.84 points. Second came Nikolay Nedelchev, speciality Computer Systems, Technical University, Sofia. He was followed by Ivan Genov. Closely after them were the forth and the fifth: Michail Kovachev and Ivan Bobev.

Prof. Ivan Soskov, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, addressed the guests and the participants. The event was attended by the Vice-Deans Assoc. Prof. Maria Nisheva and Assoc. Prof. Dimitar Birov. Awards and charters were given to the winners on behalf of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria.

"If the task makes me interested and I have enough time, I always participate. The competition has become more interesting. The system of the competition has improved and the organizing board reacted adequately and promptly on the commentaries of the participants" commented Martin.

The forth round of the competition is going on with the support of the Bulgarian Association of the Software Developers. The competitors can directly upload their solutions to the task at http://konkurs.musala.com up to 11th February, inclusive.
