Students won gold for Sofia University from a competition in computational mathematics

The first national Student Competition in Computational Mathematics named after Acad. Stefan Dodunekov took place in the Technical university of Gabrovo from 24th to 26th October, 2012.

The National Student Competition in Computational Mathematics is a personal competition, in which students of Bachelor's and Master's Degree programmes of all universities in Bulgaria can take part. The Regulations divides the participants in three groups according to the speciality they study. The compettion is organized by the National Committee, chaired by Prof. Stoyan Kapralov, Technical University of Gabrovo. The Chair of the Jury is Prof. Stefka Boyuklieva, University of Tarnovo.

41 students of 8 universities participated in this year's competition CompMath-2012. Sofia University winners were in group B:

Georgy Stojchev - 54 pts, gold

Yavor Novev - 54 pts, gold

Iglika Dimitrova - 53 pts, gold

Diana Cholakova - 45 pts, silver

Tatyana Peshkova - 45 pts, silver

Rumen Georgiev - 43 pts, silver

Nikoleta Ivanova - 41 pts, silver

The competition was supported by VIVACOM, Bulgarian Mathematical Society and СТЕМО.
