Sofia University students received certificates from an international conference

The conference was attended
by 120 people from Serbia, USA,
Croatia, UK, Italy
and Bulgaria

Sofia University students, speciality Library and Information Studies, participated in an international conference in Belgrade between 30th September and 2nd October, 2011.

The conference was organised in relation to preservation of the historic, cultural and scientific artifacts and documents towards enriching national memory through the educational institutions. Initiator was the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. The 11th international conference was entitled: "Digitization and historical inheritance, university repositories and distance learning" and was co-organised by University of Belgrade, Emporia State University, USA, and Sofia University. The conference gathered more than 120 scientists from Serbia, Croatia, the USA, the UK, Italy, Bulgaria, etc.

Sofie University students presented the following papers:

1. Ganchev, Gancho. The Bulgarian Open Access Journals in the Years of Economic Crisis, 2008-2011.

2. Toleva, Petya. The state of human resource in terms of digitalization of Cultural heritage in some of the major Public libraries in Bulgaria.

3. Velichkova, Danaila. Electronic newspaper as an opportunity for preservation of the cultural heritage. The Bulgarian experience.
