Aleksandrina Al-Jassem goes to the FameLab International Final at the Times Cheltenham Science Festival

The competition FameLab® this year gathers 14 national winners from three continents to show who is the best in communicating science in an easy to grasp and interesting way. Bulgaria will be presented by Aleksandina Al-Jassem, BSc in Biology and student of Master's Degree Programme Genetics at Sofia University. She will compete with the representatives of Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania and Serbia and will be assessed by the jury for the 3C's: Content, Clarity and Charisma for a 3-minute presentation.

The Bulgarian finalist won the National competition with an extremely interesting talk on Human "Chimeras" about a phenomenon with human DNA when different tissues have different DNA.

Traditionally science is regarded as male field, however this year final will be balanced: 7 men and 7 women will compete.
