Sofia Univerity students work on a film for BBC and City University of London

A team of the student Alma Mater TV Chanel spent a week in the heart of London to shoot a documentary series on freedom of speech in the UK and on perspectives for higher education the UK presents.

The team gathers students of the faculties of Journalism and Mass Communication and of History, as well as students from New Bulgarian University. During their stay in London, they had the opportunity to visit the studios of BBC and to talk to some of the most experienced journalists, who had covered hot news from around the world. They also met lecturers and students of the prestigious City University. The project was realized as part of the programme "Establishment and development of student European TV network", which is initiated and managed by the Bulgarian Alma Mater TV.

Alma Mater TV team arrived in London on the rainy 2nd October. The work on the first film started on the next day, with interviews of the students and lecturers of City University, London. It is focused on the department of journalism, and the topic is the opportunities for education in the UK viewed from the perspective of students of different countries. The student TV camera also shot a working day in a BBC studio, and interviewed Krasimira Handry, a Bulgarian who works as a BBC editor. The series also includes stories about some of the most interesting districts of London.

The series will be on TV Europe as part of the programmes "Atelier" and "Proactive".
