"Promises are not positive, they only inspire skeptical curiosity"

A public discussion on the priorities and programmes of Bulgaria started in the Aula. The discussion is on EU Cohesion Policy for the programme period 2014-2020

The discussion was opened by Mr. Tomislav Donchev, Minister of EU Funds Management. He shared that in his experience promises are not positive, they only inspire skeptical curiosity. He defined the event as a final of the training period and a beginning of the hard work on preparing Bulgaria for the next programming period 2014-2020. Bulgarian Government, and the Minister of EU Funds Management in particular, have three main goals: quality and responsibility in participating in the debate at European level; defining the priority investment for the country to ensure sustainability; answering the question "how" the funding to be spread as a guarantee of efficient and timely support of the activities. Minister Donchev stressed on the importance of the role of the public debate and consensus, leaving away the political issues.
The debate was continued by Mrs. Radostina Angelova, Head of Cabinet of the management of EU fund, who presented analysis of the National Programme of Development: Bulgaria 2010. Suggestions for operative programmes, leading institutions for each one of them and goals were offered by Mrs Dobrinka Krusteva, Head of Department in Management of EU Funds Directorate, Ministry of Finance.
