The first projects to be funded by the Structural Funds Operational Programme Human Resources Development,"Support to the development of PhD students, post-doctoral students, post-graduate students and young scientists"
Four contracts were given to Sofia University Rector Prof. Ilchev by Minister Jordanka Fandukova.
The funded projects are:

- “Colegium Historicum”, Project Manager Prof. Draganov
- “Computer and interactive tools for historical linguistic research", Project Manager Prof. Totomanova
- “Mathematical logic and computer linguistics: development and integration", Project Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tinchev
