An official ceremony of awarding Prof. Howard Gardner an honorary degree Doctor Honoris Causa of Sofia University was held in the Aula on 20th November.
He became 331st holder of the Honorary Degree. The award was given by Prof. Popivanov, Vice-Rector.
Prof. Gardner has been teaching for 37 years at Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is a holder of a number of honorary degrees from the universities in Canada, Italy, South Korea, etc.
He is world famous author in the field of cognitive psychology and education. His research is in the field of student assessment, learning through understanding, personalization of the education and content, interdisciplinary approach to education. He has published 27 books, more than 450 articles in journals and more than 300 papers in collections.
His academic speech is on "Five Minds of the Future".
