The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Maria Shishnyova - Vice-Rector and Chair of the Candidate-students Campaign, Georgi Geshev - Head of Departmentof Academic Affairs, and Assist. Prof. Simeon Hinkovsky - Head of the Information Centre.The press conference was dedicated to the results from the admission exams and the 10 most wanted specialties. The candidate-students were by 400 more than the past two years, with 11, 253 documents for ranking to be admitted. The second exam session had most students in the exam of Bulgarian Language and Literature: 1810, while the first had most in the exam of History.

The most wanted specialty is Psychology, with a total of 5981 candidates, next is Law - with 1294 candidates. Other popular specialties are Journalism, Medicine, Public Administration, Software Engineering, English Philology, International Relations, and Social Working.

The results show that the percentage of the excellent marks has risen and the percentage of the failing marks has decreased. The exam in Bulgarian Geography had the lowest marks, many excellent results were scored in the exams of English, Biology, German. These results were not the final as the results from the exams in Bulgarian Language and Literature and History had not been announced.

Most of the specialties accept the Matriculation Exams this year. About 10 000 candidates will use this opportunity.
