Sofia University Conference Hall hosted a press conference dedicated to the 1150 anniversary of the Great Moravian mission of the holly brothers St Cyril and St Methodius, which will celebrated under the patronage of the President, Mr Rosen Plevneliev.
The chair of the Managing Board of the National Initiative Committee, Prof. Kiril Topalov presented the different aspects of the programme and the planned events. Prof. Totomanova, Head of the Department of Cyril and Methodius Studies, acknowledged the contribution of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as well as this of Sofia University, which will host the opening and will take part with a number of significant events, including Cyril and Methodius Readings on 10th 11th May. She also announced her gratitude towards the institutions who expressed their desire to support the celebrations.
Prof. Topalov added that the stable grounds was what made the Great Moravian Mission into a Bulgarian mission and an important stage of Cyril and Methodius work, which achieves its most complete fulfilment in Bulgaria.
