The official ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication Assoc. Prof. Teodora Petrova. Before the ceremony, lecturers and representatives of the media industry gathered together to bridge the University and the industry. Among the official guests of the event was Mrs. Maya Vasileva, Executive Director of the Association of the TV Producers, Mr. Valery Todorov, Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio, and Mr. Lyubomir Alamanov - Managing Director of APRA Porter Novelli. Mr. Alamanov shared that the Departments of the Faculty were very creative in their work and he would support closer collaboration in future in order to provide even better practice of the students.

The Rector, Prof. Ivan Ilchev announced the official promotion of year 2011/2012 and congratulated the Faculty for the successful preparation of professionals at European level.
