Prof. Atanas Gerdzhikov was elected as the new Vice-Rector on Accreditation and Post-Accreditation Control at a meeting of the Academic Council.
Prof. Gerdzhikov was born in 1963, he graduated the Classical Lyceum (the National High School of Old Languages and Cultures), then Classical Studies at Sofia University and the Humboldt University, Berlin. He specialized in Austria and Germany, and since 1997 has been a full-time lecturer at Sofia University, Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology; professor since 2008. Between 2001 and 2003 was a Vice-Minister of Education, 2008-2009 was a Director of the National Scientific Fund.
