The book "The Jewish Coomunity in Rouschuk" by D-r Tsvi Keren was presented before the serious historical research supporters.
The author presents the history and life of the Bulgarian Jews in Rouschuk (Rousse today), describes the emergence and establishment of one of the Jewish communities in Bulgaria, which makes a significant impact on the history of the Jews there. The book depicts the organization of the Jewish community, its relations with the local people, with the Ottoman authorities, and with the diplomats of the European countries.
A wide variety of sources are used thus enlightening the life, traditions and moral and ethics of the Jewish community.
The book was translated from Hebrew by Angel Chorapchiev and is under the editorship of Assoc. Prof. Plamen Mitev. It is a hard copy of 353 pages and is already available in the SU bookstores.
