Lecture by Iliana Yotova "Problems of the EU policy in the region"

The Member of the EU Parliament Iliana Yotova delivered a lecture for the students of the Master's Degree Programmes "Regional development and regional government" and "Human resource management" of Sofia University.

The EU Parliament member presented in details the structure and authorities of the EU Parliament and its place among the other EU institutions. She also presented the priorities and specifics of her actions as a member of the EU Parliament.

"More development and work places for all regions and towns in Europe" is one of the basic messages of the EU. "The EU regional policy aims at achieving economical and social cohesion; it is an instrument of financial solidarity and a powerful force for cohesion and economic integration, thus improving EU competitiveness on a world scale".

The students asked many questions about the acceptance of Turkey in the EU, the relations between Bulgaria and Russia, the priorities in the power industry, and many other current issues.
