Sofia University Aula gathered many students, lecturers, guests and ambassadors from Spain, Argentine, Venezuela, Portugal, etc.

Prof. Ivan Ilchev, the Rector, addressed all lecturers and students of the specialty and noted, that Sofia University was the first to pave the road of the Spanish Culture and language in Bulgaria.

The exhibition

The exhibition "Call for Freedom" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the specialty Spanish Philology opened earlier. Famous Spanish artists are the authors of the paintings in the field of poster and graphical design. Bozhidar Ikonomov was the only Bulgarian to present at the exhibition. 29 pieces from 22 countries were presented.
