"From th Sun to the Earth: has the humankind emerged due to the neutrino"

A workshop of the scientific collaboration MICE and organized by Department of Atomic Physics started yesterday in Bankya Palace Hotel. The workshop will last until 8th October.

The leader of the scientific team Prof. Blondel from the University of Geneva will deliver a public lecture on "From th Sun to the Earth: has the humankind emerged due to the neutrino" which will take place in auditorium A315 of the Faculty of Physics at 6:30 pm on 7th October.

Collaboration MICE was established in 2002 - 2003 and gathers more than 130 scientists from Europe, the USA, Japan and China. A team from the Department of Atomic Physics of Sofia University lead by Prof. Rumen Tsanov were invited to participate in the collaboration in 2005 as a sign of respect towards the achivements in this field. Ever since we have actively participated in designing equipment, software, and data analysis.

The workshop is the 28th, as part of the annual 2 or 3 workshops. It aims at reporting results and planning future actions. 47 scientists have registered for participation.
