Prof. Georgi Vaysilov, Faculty of Chemistry, is the President of the Federation of European Zeolite Associations (FEZA).

The Federation was established 15 years ago and gathers scientists and industry experts from around Europe who work on the synthesis, research and effective application of the zeolites and similar materials. Zeolite is a crystal material which is used as a basis of catalysts of a number of industrial processes. Prof. Vaysilov's work is dedicated towards theoretical modelling of zeolite structures and catalyst centres within them.

Prof. Vaysilov is author of 69 publications, 60 of which in renowned journals such as Advances in Catalysis, Angewandte Chemie, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Catalysis Review, Journal of Physical Chemistry, Journal of Organic Chemistry, Journal of Materials Chemistry, etc. He was cited more than 900 times. He organised or co-organised 9 international conferences. He has been a Deputy Chair of the Humboldt Association in Bulgaria since 2007.
