The great Bulgarian writer was awarded in an official ceremony in the Aula
Dimitar Shumnaliev was born on 3rd March 1947 in Sofia. He is the current executive editor of the newspaper Noshten Trud.
He graduated from Sofia University, Bulgarian Philology; then he specialized French language and literature in France. His further specialization was from the Writers' Programme in Iowa, the USA.He worked for many newspapers such as "Narodna Mladez" (Youth), "Narodna Cultura" (Culture), etc.; he was also executive editor of "Pulse" and "Fax". Author of 18 books.
His works have been translated in English, Russian, German, French, etc.
