The days of Culture in May at Sofia University are opened by a solemn liturgy for Saints Cyril and Methodius in the chapel of the Faculty of Theology.
The tradition was established in 1975, since then each year from 11 to 24th May the University hosts a lot of conferences, lectures, educational and cultural events with international attendance.
Traditionally the focus of all events is the celebration of the Day of Bulgarian alphabet and culture.
