Traditionally, Sofia University marks the Day of the Bessarabian Bulgarians, 29th October.
This year's Seventh international round table was dedicated to Acad. Balan's life and work. He was born in Ukraine and was a Bessarabian Bulgarian by origin himself.
Addresses were delivered by H.E. Mr. Victor Kalnik, Ambassador of Ukraine; Mrs. Raina Manjurkova - Chair of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Plamen Mitov - Dean of the Faculty of History.
