Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov, Vice-Rector, opened the Second Regional Conference in Portuguese Studies for Central and Eastern Europe.
The conference gathered representatives of 13 universities of 9 countries. Assoc. Prof. Petya Yaneva, Dean of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology addressed her colleagues by acknowledging the fats development of the Portuguese Studies section due to the young and ambitious research team.
Mr. Gajtandzhiev addressed the participants on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that "Culture and economics are among the most powerful tools of foreign policy".
