Sofia University was the host of the first Chinese-Bulgarian Rectors' Forum, in which the Rectors and representatives of 40 Chinese Universities and 50 Bulgarian Universities were present.
The forum was dedicated to the academic cooperation between the universities in China and Bulgaria.
An address on behalf of the Ministry of Education was presented, in which it was stated that this forum would facilitate more intensive cooperation between the academia of the two countries. The Chinese delegation was most interest by the presentations of Sofia University and Technical University Sofia. They were introduced to the history, structure, education, and perspectives of the two universities. The Chinese experience and expectations for future collaboration were in the focus of the Chinese presentations.
The forum was supplemented by an exhibition, dedicated to the Chinese university education; materials about the educational system in China were available for the guests and participants.
