Bulgarian - Croatian conference "War and Peace" started

The 9th International conference "Croatians and Bulgarians through ages: War and Peace" started. The Institute of Balkan Studies with the Bulgarian Academy of Science and Sofia University organized the event.

The conference is organized under the project "Sources, papers and reference books on Croatian history" which is a joint work between the Institute of Balkan Studies with the Bulgarian Academy of Science and the Department of History Science with the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts.

Prof. Svetlozar Elderov opened the conference on behalf of the Bulgarian side. He accentuated on the problems of peace. Bulgarian-Croatian relationships are based on political, economic and cultural collaboration. Prof. Elderov also stated that the choice of the conference symbol was carefully made: to express the need for thinking of war before it happens so to avoid the losses.

Conference opening addresses were also delivered by Dr. Ante Tulin and Dr. Damir Karbich, as well as H. E. Mrs. Dinka Frankovich, acting Ambassador.
