"Bulgaria should not rush into acceptance in the Euro zone"

The lecture delivered by H.E. Jorje Fuentes, the ambassador of Spain, attracted great interest in Hall 1.

Spain Presidency of the EU would allow Spain to further support Bulgarian work towards acceptance in the Euro zone, however Bulgaria should not rush into it as a stand alone goal, was the opinion of the Ambassador. The realistic date for this to happen is 2013 in order for the government to make all the necessary preparations.

The priorities of the Spain Presidency of the EU are the application of the Lisbon Contract, resolving the climatic problems, minorities issues, human rights, migration, terrorism, overcoming of the crisis, enlarging the EU.

Mr Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, ex- Prime Minister, attended the event.
