Mineralogy, Paleontology and Natural Resources Museum with the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Sofia University, is 120 years old.
The Museum is the oldest repository for rocks and minerals in Bulgaria. Its history is closely related to research in geology performed at Sofia University. The funds today exceed 16 200 samples, half of which are exhibited in 7 sections: Systematic, Petrographic, Natural Resources, Crystallography, Regional Mineralogy, Genetic Mineralogy, Memorial Collections. The collections are presented to support education according to the curricula.
