A Decree, issued by Knyaz Ferdinant on 23rd January, 1904, transforms the "State High School into University".
At the end of 1888 the National Assembly passed a bill which founded the School of Higher Education, which later on was transformed into a University.
A Decree, issued by Knyaz Ferdinant on 23rd January, 1904, transforms the "State High School into University"; and, by the will of the first donators Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev it was named after them: Bulgarian University "Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev from Karlovo."
We will proudly celebrate the 105th anniversary of the event on 23rd January, 2009. Since its foudation, the University has accumulated the spiritual energy of Bulgaria, supporting the development of Bulgarian intellectual potential, the enlightenment of the society, and the formation of national identity.
