The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy (FCP) of SU, with 1 academician, 28 full professors, 42 associate professors and 38 assistant professors, hosts over 700 students and 40 PhD students. Among the academic staff, 95 members have PhD degree and 12 members – the higher doctor of science (DSc) degree. Most of the academic staff members have spent research periods in leading research centers in Western Europe, North America and Japan. Their research papers are published in peer reviewed international journals (about 100 papers per year) and are widely cited in the scientific literature (more than 4000 citations per year). In the Sofia University, FCP is the leader in the number of (and incomes from) research projects, their number being about 85 per year, including ca. 30 industrial projects per year.

Students from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University "St. Kl. Ohridski" visted AROMA

Within the frame of EXTREME project, an online training on circular dichroism spectroscopy will be organized on the topic "Fundamentals, examples and practice of circular dichroism spectroscopy". The training will include a lecture with demonstrating the capabilities of the method by Prof. Raimundo Gargallo, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Barcelona, Spain.

The project EXTREME is a part of the European Scientific Networks National Programme funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Science and Education. In the project, Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski” has as partners University of Barcelona and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
