The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy (FCP) of SU, with 1 academician, 28 full professors, 42 associate professors and 38 assistant professors, hosts over 700 students and 40 PhD students. Among the academic staff, 95 members have PhD degree and 12 members – the higher doctor of science (DSc) degree. Most of the academic staff members have spent research periods in leading research centers in Western Europe, North America and Japan. Their research papers are published in peer reviewed international journals (about 100 papers per year) and are widely cited in the scientific literature (more than 4000 citations per year). In the Sofia University, FCP is the leader in the number of (and incomes from) research projects, their number being about 85 per year, including ca. 30 industrial projects per year.

Denitsa Nikolova, PhD student at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University St . Kl. Ohridski has received the 20th Jubilee Award "Outstanding Young Scientist in Polymers" for 2023 named after Prof. Ivan Shopov

Within the project EXTREME, an online lecture by Mrs. Alina Maria Tomoiaga, Project Officer at European Innovation Council, will be held devoted to the Pathfinder programme of the European Innovation Council. The lecture will provide an information about the main characteristics of the programme, the consortia and proposal requirements as well as an open discussion about the challenges and some common mistakes related to this specific call is envisaged.
