A jubilee conference on the future perspectives of the scholarly subject of Japanese Studies at the Faculty of Classical and Contemporary Philology, marking the 25^th anniversary of the subject, was held at Aula Magna of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

It is the second time that Ilko Minev has made generous donation to Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski; the donation’s aim is to modernize the University’s facilities. He was awarded an honorary charter for his donation during the presentation of his book “The Daughter of the Rivers” which took place at the Egg Restaurant at the Rectorate of Sofia University.

At a General Assembly held on 17^th November, 2015, in Lecture Theater 65 of the Rectorate of Sofia University, Professor Dr. Habil. Anastas Gerdjikov was elected Rector of the oldest and most reputable higher academic institution in this country with 190 votes. The other candidate for the post, Professor Dr. Tony Spasov, Corresponding Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, garnered 162 of the votes.

Sofia University marked the feast day of its heavenly patron, St. Kliment Ohridski.
