The Office of Research and the Office of Student Life & Community Engagement would like to invite you to participate in the 5th Annual Student Research Competition hosted by the American University in the Emirates. The 2022 AUESRC will be a ‘Hybrid’ event and will be held on September 11, 2022.

AUESRC strives to promote scientific research among undergraduate and graduate students, aiming at instilling life-long skills reinforcing students’ future employability by fostering an entrepreneurial mindset informing an attitude valorizing education, research, and innovation.

This contest is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled regionally or internationally who would like to participate and present their research outcomes with their colleagues. Eligible projects include major classroom scholarly research projects, basic research, applied research, commercial research, theses and dissertations, capstone projects, creative works in art and design, and literary analysis that reveals new connections and insights.

Scope & Topic:

In line with ‘UAE Centennial 2071’ that was launched by his Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum “to prepare the nation for future generations,” the AUE Annual Student Research Competition (AUESRC) continues, in its 5th edition, to promote scientific research among undergraduate and graduate students. AUESRC aims at instilling life-long learning, reinforcing students’ future employability skills, and fostering entrepreneurial mindsets and attitudes pertinent to education, research, and innovation.

Transitioning into a Future Generation

Student projects or research accepted include the following themes:

• Smart Technologies and Innovation (Engineering, Computer Science. etc.)
• Business Administration and Entrepreneurship
• Humanities and Social Sciences
• Law
• Media, Art, and Design
• Education
• Natural and Health Sciences
• Digital Transformation

A maximum of three research teams from each university may participate in the competition. Research projects can include a research paper, capstone project, master thesis, or any other creative work.

Deadline for Project Submission: August 28, 2022

Notification of Acceptance: August 30, 2022

Competition Date: September 11, 2022

Venue: Hybrid (Auditorium - AUE Campus, Zoom)

Awards:

Awards will be granted to both undergraduate and graduate students based on their project’s scope, methodology, analysis, and recommendations.

• First Place: 5000 AED cash prize
• Second Place: 3000 AED cash prize
• Third Place: 2000 AED cash prize
